This square is considered one of the most beautiful of the coutry. You can find green areas, trees, palm trees, and places to sit down and a fountain in plate shape of great size in the center. From there you can admire the Iglesia Catedral, the municipality and the mountains that surround the city.

It's a modern architecture construction where you can see the image of the Huamantanga Christ, patron saint of the city and the image of la Virgen del Rosario, an sculpture that dates from the first years of the colonial period. The central nave has a height of 15 meters. Inside you can appreciate colored stained glass windows that also decorate the tower of the clock, that has nearly 30 meters of height, and you can admire it in one side of the main entrance.

With mostly one hectare, the bothanic garden harbors more than 200 species of flora from the region (native and introduced later) as orchids, begonias and many others, among the ones some endangered.
